| Summary: | Perioperative anxiety is recognized as a critical factor that negatively affects the patient’s emotional well-being. One of the ways to address this issue is through effective communication strategies employed by nursing staff. Therefore, the objective of this study is to design an effective nursing communication strategy for the comprehensive management of anxiety. The methodology was based on the PRISMA approach, conducting a literature review of scientific articles in databases such as Scielo, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. A total of 740 articles were identified, from which 17 relevant studies published between 2020 and 2025 were selected. The findings indicate that nursing professionals can use a variety of strategies to support patient care. Nurse-patient communication, expressions of empathy, active listening, and the implementation of personalized psychoeducational programs significantly contribute to reducing anxiety levels. It is concluded that the systematic application of these strategies is an essential component for optimizing the comprehensive management of surgical patients, promoting better outcomes in both the preoperative and postoperative phases. |
