Crynodeb:Introduction: Cranioencephalic trauma is considered a serious public health problem due to its high mortality or disability rate that leads to suffer this type of trauma, causing damage at the level of the encephalon which affects the patient's health significantly. Objective: To identify the role of nursing in the care of post - surgical patients with craniocerebral trauma. Methodology: A qualitative approach was used to collect information, which was classified using the PRISMA method, which guarantees the quality of the data found, since it allows optimizing the information efficiently. Results: The role of the nursing staff in the post - surgical care of patients with cranioencephalic trauma has a significant impact on the clinical evolution of the patient, since the implementation of strategies such as continuous monitoring, early mobilization, pain control and education of both the patient and their family allows reducing complications and optimizing recovery times. Conclusion: Continuous training and adherence to nursing protocols by the staff are key elements for improving the quality of care in patients with this type of trauma, since measures such as asepsis and antisepsis, early nutritional assessment and constant neurological monitoring reduce the occurrence of complications, to which should be added that outpatient follow - up after hospital discharge prevents the incidence of late sequelae, so the training of nursing staff in the specialized management of this type of patients should be strengthened.
