| description | Comprehensive care for children with Down syndrome is essential to ensure their optimal development and improve their quality of life. In this sense, the present research focused on the intervention of parents and caregivers, whose main objective is based on designing a comprehensive care plan aimed at parents/caregivers of children with Down syndrome in inclusive schools in Ibarra. The research was developed using a quantitative approach, a non-experimental cross-sectional design, and applied methods at the theoretical level of knowledge such as logical historical, synthetic analytical, and systemic approach, thereby managing to put the problem into context. The study population consisted of 36 parents/caregivers of children with Down syndrome. A survey technique was used with a questionnaire-based instrument to collect and analyze the data. The study population consisted of 36 parents/caregivers of children with Down syndrome. A survey technique was used with a questionnaire-based instrument to collect and analyze the data. The most important results reveal that 39% do not attend stimulation centers, which could lead to a delay in certain skills, especially if there is no other form of intervention at home or at school. Likewise, 64% of children receive stimulation at school, which should be equitable and should be provided both at home and at school. These data supported the creation of the proposal through educational strategies called "Caring for my child with Down syndrome," designed specifically for parents/caregivers of children with this condition. The initiative seeks to strengthen their capacities in key aspects of child development, promoting a comprehensive care approach based on knowledge and safety. |
