| Περίληψη: | Introduction: Psychosocial risk factors influence the psychic, physical or social well-being of an employee and may be associated with emotional exhaustion syndrome. Objective: To determine the degree of association of occupational psychosocial risk factors with emotional exhaustion syndrome in teachers of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Universidad Regional Autónoma de Los Andes of Ecuador. Methods: Two instruments were applied: to evaluate psychosocial risk factors and to investigate the presence of emotional exhaustion syndrome the Maslach Burnout Inventory for teachers. Statistical inference tests such as the chi-square ratio and the odds ratio were used to establish the association between the two variables. Results: 102 teachers were surveyed and through the association of variables it was found that they presented a high risk of emotional exhaustion by increasing work demands and workload; depersonalization by increasing work demands, social interaction and organizational aspects; and emotional exhaustion by increasing the total value of psychosocial risks, job role and career development, task content and characteristics, and performance pay. Conclusions: 8 risk associations were recognized: 4 in terms of emotional exhaustion, 2 in relation to depersonalization and the other 2 with reference to Burnout risk. Psychosocial care is important to avoid burnout, through coping strategies to reality and for the type of work they perform. |
