The objective was to develop an algorithm to provide nursing care to patients with peritonitis in Ecuador, where a qualitative and descriptive literature review was conducted with a non - experimental design and using the synthetic analytical theoretical method, information was obtained from an exhaustive search in different databases such as: Scielo, Redalyc, Pub Med, Scopues, Elseiver and university repositories of Ecuador, using keywords for the search as peritonitis and postoperative nursing care. As a result, it is highlighted that peritonitis is still considered a medical problem. However, nursing care and application of theories in providing care contribute to recovery of the patient. Therefore, the designed algorithm containing information on nursing care before, during and after surgery is expected to be part of a supporting tool for the nursing staff and to optimize time in relation to care. |
