| Streszczenie: | A nursing professional provides care by teaching, helping, or caring for individuals in their environment. Nursing is crucial for the care and follow-up of patients, especially those undergoing surgery for prostatectomy. This procedure involves the partial or complete removal of the prostate gland. Objective: To identify the different nursing care practices in the postoperative period for patients with prostatectomy through a systematic review. Methodology: The study was based on a comprehensive literature review of recognized scientific databases such as PubMed, SciELO, and ScienceDirect. Articles with information on patient care in the postoperative period of a prostatectomy and nursing care were identified. This information was systematically and manually collected, selecting articles from the last four years that met various criteria. The PRISMA methodology was used; initially, 84 articles were analyzed, and finally, 20 met the scientific rigor. Results: 12 studies were related to postoperative pathologies, with the main ones being urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction. Also, digestive symptoms such as nausea and vomiting were found. Additionally, 8 studies corresponded to nursing care, with education about the surgical intervention being the most frequent. Conclusion: Nursing care is essential, allowing patients to adapt to their new health status after prostatectomy, along with various care practices that promote recovery. |
