description | Pre-surgical anxiety is a temporary emotional state presented by patients with surgical interventions having an unfavorable impact due to the lack of knowledge of the procedure, generating inconveniences such as pain, nausea and postoperative vomiting, higher consumption of anxiolytics, sedatives, and even a hospital stay. The objective of the research was to evaluate nursing interventions in patient education about the surgical and post-surgical process in Ecuador. The present research had a qualitative approach, based on a retrospective bibliographic review of scientific literature. Theoretical analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive and historical-logical methods were used, as well as the empirical method of bibliographic review, using search engines and sites such as Google Scholar, Mendeley, Scielo, Scopus, Elsevier, Science Citation Index and Web of Science. The main results were less post-surgical uncertainty, reduced risks during and after surgery, faster and more satisfactory recovery, shorter hospital stay, less economic expenses, patients in better physical, psychological and nutritional condition, thanks to non-pharmacological interventions, such as aromatherapy, music therapy, deep breathing, hypnotherapy and complemented with humanized nursing care. From all this it is concluded that preoperative education provides crucial information to improve the quality of care and make nursing more accurate and structured in the postoperative recovery process and without the risk of developing anxiety. |

From all this it is concluded that preoperative education provides crucial information to improve the quality of care and make nursing more accurate and structured in the postoperative recovery process and without the risk of developing anxiety.La ansiedad prequirúrgica es un estado emocional temporal que presentan los pacientes con intervenciones quirúrgicas teniendo un impacto desfavorable por el desconocimiento del procedimiento, generando inconvenientes como dolor, náuseas y vómitos postoperatorios, mayor consumo de ansiolíticos, sedantes, he incluso una estancia hospitalaria. El objetivo de la investigación fue evaluar las intervenciones de enfermería en la educación del paciente sobre el proceso quirúrgico y postquirúrgico en el Ecuador. La presente investigación tuvo un enfoque cualitativo, en base a una revisión bibliográfica de literatura científica de tipo retrospectiva. Se emplearon los métodos teóricos analítico-sintético, inductivo-deductivo e histórico-lógico, así como el método empírico de revisión bibliográfica, utilizando buscadores y sitios como Google Académico, Mendeley, Scielo, Scopus, Elsevier, Science Citation Index y Web of Science. Los resultados principales fueron menor incertidumbre postquirúrgico, disminución de los riesgos durante y después de la cirugía, recuperación más pronta y satisfactoria, menor estancia hospitalaria, menos gastos económicos, pacientes con mejor condición física, psicológica, nutricional, gracias a intervenciones no farmacológicas, como es aromaterapia, musicoterapia, respiraciones profundas, hipnoterapia y complementado con el cuidado humanizado de enfermería.
