Shrnutí:Inmunosenescencia is the decline of immune function with age. The immune system maintains the body's health. Age affects acquired immunity more than innate immunity Objective: to conduct an updated literature review on the behavior of immunosenescence in HIV-infected patients. Methods: A descriptive approach was utilized to investigate immunosenescence in HIV patients for the purpose of identifying clinical implications. A systematic literature review will be carried out following the PRISMA model with predefined inclusion criteria. Information will be retrieved from scientific databases using relevant MESH search terms. Results: accelerated immunosenescence in HIV patients leads to rapid deterioration of the immune system due to the chronic nature of the infection, increasing susceptibility to infections and immunological disorders. Changes in T lymphocytes affect the immune response, with a higher presence of memory cells and altered phenotypes. This can result in a decrease in the effectiveness of the immune response, increased autoantibodies, and a higher risk of autoimmune diseases. Personalized therapeutic strategies aim to improve these outcomes. Conclusion: HIV patients experience progressive immune deterioration with alterations in T lymphocytes and a higher presence of memory cells. This results in a compromised immune response, increased susceptibility to infections, and autoimmune disorders. Personalized therapeutic strategies are key to improving immune health in this vulnerable population.
