| סיכום: | The present investigation focused on the use of Actaea racemosa (Cimicifuga racemosa) in the treatment of menopausal symptoms, based on a literature review to determine its efficacy, knowing that Actaea racemosa has been traditionally used in indigenous and modern medicine to alleviate physical and emotional symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes and mood swings. This is why the literature review was conducted using a qualitative approach and covered studies published from 2018 to 2023, using Google Scholar, Scielo, and PubMed. Studies were selected based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, ensuring the scientific quality and relevance of the information. Theoretical methods such as analytical - synthetic methods were used to decompose and analyze the literature in detail, following the parameters established by PRISMA 2020 for a systematic and accurate review. The results indicate that Cimicifuga racemosa is effective in reducing vasomotor and psychological symptoms, acting through modulation of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, without interacting with estrogen receptors. Clinical studies showed significant improvements in the quality of life of menopausal women, comparable to those of hormone therapy, but with a more favorable safety profile. In conclusion, Cimicifuga racemosa is a promising and safe therapeutic option for the management of menopausal symptoms |
