Özet: | The main objective of this research project was to elaborate educational strategies regarding healthy practices for the prevention of acute respiratory infections in the population of children under 5 years in Esperanza parish during 2024. For the methodology, a quantitative research paradigm was used, based on the gathering and analysis of numerical data which allowed to obtain quantifiable and measurable results. The type of investigation was descriptive under a non-experimental design. The analytic synthetic method was used combining the analysis of the research with the synthesis of the information obtained. The study technique was a survey and as for the instrument used, it consisted of validated and structured questions. The main results showed that 50% of the children are under 2 years old, predominantly female. The parents of these children have little knowledge regarding the generalities of acute respiratory infections, and 48% of these parents considered that respiratory infections occurred due to weather changes, demonstrating a general perception among the population. Additionally, 40% only take their children to medical controls when they get sick, which indicates a low frequency when attending to regular or preventive medical control. Besides, there is a low proportion of knowledge about the techniques to prevent this disease, as well as scarce information about identifying the symptoms and causes of ARI. This last result highlighted the need to implement educational strategies addressed to improve the knowledge regarding healthy practices to prevent acute respiratory infections in children under 5 years of age. |
