The general objective was to propose a guide to optimize postoperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery in Ecuador according to scientific literature. The main focus of this research was given by a qualitative design which focuses on the search for relevant information to optimize nursing care through a literature review in different indexed databases related to the area of health, it was also necessary to use the PRISMA method that allowed to classify and prioritize the search for scientific information in indexed databases. Post-surgical nursing care must be precise, which is why there is a need for a standardized nursing care guide in order to reduce the possible inconveniences in the evolution of the post-surgical patient, which is why we incorporated a guide to optimize post-surgical nursing care based on satisfying the needs of Virginia Henderson in order to improve the quality of care we provide and make the most of the time and resources available for patient care, ensuring key and effective interventions focused on the patient's recovery. |

El objetivo general fue proponer una guía para optimizar el cuidado enfermero en el postoperatorio de pacientes sometidos a cirugías cardiacas en Ecuador según literatura científica. El enfoque principal de esta investigación se dio por un diseño cualitativo el cual se enfoca en la búsqueda de informacion relevante para optimizar el cuidado enfermero mediante una revisión bibliográfica en diferentes bases de datos indexadas relacionadas con el área de la salud, también fue necesario utilizar el método PRISMA que permitió clasificar y priorizar la búsqueda de informacion científica en la bases de datos indexadas.
