Factores que intervienen en el progreso del weaning ventilatorio en el paciente critico

This article based on a literature review was conducted with the aim of solving the problems in practice in the short and medium term, providing specialized and humanized care to the patient who requires care during ventilatory weaning, as they are key to avoid complications. According to the type of study, it is carried out through a qualitative type of research, which involved in the collection and analysis of data in order to acquire new knowledge, perceptions and experiences in the daily professional practice, and to be able to meet the needs of patients, descriptive - documentary study whose data are collected through secondary sources in indexed journals, scientific publications and websites that provide important information and scientific evidence on the essential factors of patients who fail ventilatory weaning, especially those who require prolonged mechanical ventilation, taking into account that mechanical ventilation is a life support treatment, in which a machine is used to provide ventilation and oxygenation support, which helps gas exchange and respiratory work of patients with the highest incidence of pathologies such as respiratory failure. The mechanical ventilator, by generating a pressure gradient between two points (mouth / airway - alveolus) produces a flow in a certain time, which generates a pressure that has to overcome the resistances to flow and the elastic properties of the respiratory system, obtaining a volume of gas that enters and then leaves the respiratory system.
