要約:Renal cancer is a disease commonly diagnosed in elderly individuals, characterized by the abnormal proliferation of cells in the renal tubules, which are responsible for filtering and purifying the blood. For this reason, this study is aimed to identify the role of nursing in the care of elderly patients with a diagnosis of renal cancer through a literature review. A systemic review of literature was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology. This review provided a transparent documentation of the justification and findings of the author, various research works focused on the role of nursing in the care of elderly patients with renal cancer were analyzed. A total of 166 studies were analyzed, which, after applying the established inclusion and exclusion criteria was reduced to 29. The main results highlight that the nursing role in managing renal cancer in older adults includes administering treatments, educating patients about their condition and therapies as well as effective symptom management, coordinating palliative care which are essential for the quality of life of the patient. This multifaceted role ensures that physical, emotional, and educational aspects of care are addressed, which is crucial for managing the complex needs of elderly patients with renal cancer.
