| Riassunto: | Tonsillectomy is a common otolaryngological surgery, with postoperative complications such as pain, bleeding, and eating disorders. The lack of standardization in nursing care hinders continuous and effective care. Objective: To design a postoperative nursing care protocol for patients undergoing tonsillectomy, based on the findings of a systematic review. Materials and methods: A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA method. Databases such as PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect were consulted. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 15 articles published between 2020 and 2025 were selected. Results: The nursing protocol is organized into three phases: the initial phase prioritizes pain control, continuous assessment of the patient's general condition, pre-discharge education, and telephone follow-up. Home follow-up emphasizes monitoring nutritional status and hydration, applying Enhanced Recovery After Surgery protocols, and providing ongoing guidance. The final phase promotes interventions to improve quality of life, emotional support for patients and families, and strengthening resilience. Conclusions. The protocol promotes comprehensive and systematic care for post-tonsillectomy patients, adapting to different clinical contexts and ensuring personalized care. |
