Optimización del cuidado enfermero en el perioperatorio de embarazo ectópico: revisión sistemática de la bibliografía

Ectopic pregnancy is a serious obstetric complication with a global incidence of 1-2% of pregnancies, representing an important risk to the woman’s life. This systematic review aimed to develop a nursing care protocol in the perioperative period for patients diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy in Ecuador, based on the most recent evidence. An exhaustive search was conducted in databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, RRAAE, and Scopus, following PRISMA guidelines, including studies published between 2020 and 2024. The resulting protocol covers initial assessment, preoperative management, perioperative care, patient education, and postoperative follow-up. It stands out for its comprehensive approach, including specific interventions for pain management, strong educational strategies, effective communication techniques, predictive algorithms for early detection, and standardized follow-up procedures. Additionally, it incorporates crucial aspects such as psychological support and continuous training of nursing staff. The comparison with international guidelines shows that this protocol offers a more complete and patient-centered perspective, specifically adapted to the Ecuadorian context. In conclusion, this protocol represents a significant advancement in optimizing nursing care for ectopic pregnancy in Ecuador, with the potential to improve health outcomes, reduce complications, and standardize nursing care, ultimately benefiting patients facing this potentially life-threatening condition.
