The present research with the research line of compliance and data protection aims to analyze the incidence of obtaining facial images, through the ECU911 video surveillance system, in the presumption of the principle of confidentiality provided for in the Organic Law on Data Protection. It was developed with a qualitative approach, through doctrinal documents, journal articles, books and video surveillance case studies, with a cross-sectional research design that allowed the empirical search of web page publications. The scope of the research was of an explanatory analytical type, considering video surveillance recordings and their effect on the principle of confidentiality in the SIS ECU 911. The theoretical method of knowledge was applied as analysis - synthesis, dividing the object of study to identify its relationship with the parts and establish general characteristics from the analysis. The inductive - deductive method was used, reasoning particular cases and establishing the characteristics that motivated for the application of video surveillance and the presumption of the principle of confidentiality provided in the law of protection of personal data. |

La presente investigación con línea de investigación de cumplimiento y protección de datos tiene como objetivo analizar la incidencia de la obtención de imágenes faciales, a través del sistema de videovigilancia del ECU911, en la presunción del principio de confidencialidad previsto en la Ley Orgánica de Protección de Datos. Se desarrolló con enfoque cualitativo, a través de documentos doctrinales, artículos de revista, libros y estudios de casos de videovigilancia, con un diseño de investigación tipo transversal que permitió la búsqueda empírica de publicaciones de páginas web. El alcance de la investigación fue de tipo analítico explicativa, considerando las grabaciones de videovigilancia y su efecto en el principio de confidencialidad en el SIS ECU 911. Se aplicó el método teórico del conocimiento como análisis – síntesis, dividiendo el objeto de estudio para identificar su relación con las partes y establecer características generales a partir del análisis.
