| Shrnutí: | The infections linked to healthcare are associated with increased mortality and morbidity, frequently affecting post-surgical patients before complications arise, including traumatic injuries in children, adults, and the elderly, which may worsen depending on additional comorbidities. Nursing staff play a crucial role in the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections through the implementation of interventions that range from simple to complex. The objective of this research was to explore nursing interventions in the identification, prevention, and control of Healthcare-Associated Infections in patients admitted to the Surgery Department. Based on its approach, the study was considered quantitative, as it analyzed key results obtained through surveys that describe knowledge, activities, and solutions for complications that may arise in this patient group. The data researched were quantifiable and were compared with articles, generating percentages of agreement or differences between them. Among the identified results, it was found that nursing plays an interdisciplinary role in the care of patients with infections related to orthopedic devices. Patient Safety Protocols serve as an example of a strategy in which nursing must fulfill its caregiving role while considering recommended guidelines. It was concluded that nurses are essential in the early identification, prevention, and control of Healthcare-Associated Infections, preventing disease progression and contributing to the reduction of morbidity. Nursing interventions should include the identification of predisposing or precipitating factors to help reduce the occurrence and resolution of these events. |
