總結:Chronic malnutrition is a pathological, systemic, and potentially reversible condition that arises from a chronic lack of essential nutrients during the early years of life, leading to complex pathological states affecting physical and psychological development, reducing growth potential, and future productivity. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the role of nursing personnel in caring for children under 5 years old with chronic malnutrition by identifying interventions and strategies published in scientific literature. This study is a descriptive qualitative research, conducted by searching databases such as Scielo, Dialnet, LILACS, and PubMed. Fourteen scientific articles were selected using PRISMA guidelines, with the following search terms: "Nursing role" OR "Nursing care" AND "chronic malnutrition" AND "under five years." The results show that nursing care involves activities of promotion, prevention, comprehensive care, and micronutrient supplementation starting from gestation, including breastfeeding, weaning, and nutrition up to 5 years of age. In conclusion, nursing plays a fundamental role in the comprehensive management of childhood chronic malnutrition from detection to treatment, through comprehensive services involving clinical, psychological, social, and cultural aspects within the family and community setting where each affected child lives with this global issue.
