| Zusammenfassung: | Parenteral nutrition (PN) has been identified as a fundamental strategy in the management of oncology patients, especially those with severe malnutrition or cachexia. However, its implementation has presented challenges related to the lack of standardized protocols and specialized training for nursing staff, which could compromise the safety and effectiveness of the treatment. The objective of this review was to establish nursing interventions in PN for oncology patients, highlighting their impact on safety and quality of life. To achieve this purpose, a systematic review of scientific literature was conducted using the PRISMA guidelines, allowing for the analysis of articles published between 2019 and 2025 in databases such as Scopus, PubMed, and Scielo. Strict inclusion criteria were applied to select relevant articles on PN and nursing in oncology. In the results, key interventions were identified, such as managing venous access, preventing infections through aseptic techniques, monitoring nutritional and metabolic status, and providing education to patients and families to ensure proper PN management. These interventions were crucial in reducing complications and improving clinical outcomes. Although a positive impact of PN on quality of life was observed, its effect on survival remained a subject of debate. Finally, it was concluded that strengthening nursing staff training, promoting research, and developing evidence-based standardized protocols were essential aspects to optimize its implementation and ensure a comprehensive approach. |
