The objective of this study was to implement educational strategies to prevent abortion-related maternal mortality risks in adolescents attending the gynecology service of the Divina Providencia Hospital in the San Lorenzo canton, considering that this topic is of importance to public health. A descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative field study was conducted, using surveys as study techniques to determine and identify adolescents' knowledge of abortion and its potential complications. Through strategies such as training, lectures, and workshops, the risks of maternal mortality were mitigated. The research showed that more than 97% of respondents had acquired knowledge about abortion, but 3% were still unaware of the risks of maternal mortality resulting from abortion. For this reason, training must continue, as it is a very important source of knowledge for the population. |
