Резюме:Breast cancer is a common neoplasm and a leading cause of mortality in women. Early detection implements preventive measures, thus improving treatment efficacy and survival rates. Initially, the disease originates in the cells of the ducts, lobules and breast tissue, resulting in the formation of lumps identified by techniques such as mammography and biomarkers, among others. Objective: To carry out an updated bibliographical review of breast cancer and the relationship between early diagnosis and its prognosis, in order to improve overall health in women Methods: A descriptive study was carried out by means of a bibliographical review, in which various scientific sources were examined, including the results of varied research, linked to the subject in question and which clearly demonstrate the existence of this problem. Results: The results obtained highlight the importance of stopping breast cancer in its early stages since it considerably increases the chances of successful treatment and long - term survival. This is helped by a combination of clinical examinations, mammography, ultrasound, biomarker analysis and innovative techniques such as: ‘Bimage first’ and tear analysis. Risk factors for breast cancer are classified into modifiable, such as hormone therapy, physical activity, overweight, and alcohol, tobacco and drug use, and non - modifiable, such as: gender, age, genetics, race, ethnicity, and reproductive and medical history. Conclusions: Breast cancer treatment is complex and involves a combination of different modalities including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy or biological therapies administered in various sequences, so focusing on raising awareness, increasing accessibility of screening centres, and improving referral processes and overall connectivity of the cancer care system are key steps to downstaging breast cancer.
