Diseminación de la infección odontogénica: casos en Latinoamérica entre los años 2010 - 2022 revisión bibliográfica

Objective: To carry out a systematic review of the dissemination of odontogenic infection: cases in Latin America between the years 2010 -2022. Materials and Methods: A systematic review of the spread of odontogenic infection was carried out using the PRISMA method. This rigorous methodological approach allowed us to exhaustively collect, evaluate and synthesize the available evidence on the subject. The PRISMA guidelines were followed for the selection of studies, data extraction and analysis, which guarantees the transparency, replicability and quality of the research process; providing a clear and complete view of the spread of odontogenic infection, offering valuable information for clinical practice and health decision-making. Results: The investigation on the spread of odontogenic infection, using the PRISMA method, yielded significant results; Initially, 215 articles were collected, which were subjected to a rigorous selection process in accordance with established inclusion and exclusion criteria, in accordance with the methodological parameters, and as a result, 8 articles of relevance to the study were identified and selected. Conclusions: Latin America highlights the high need for effective preventive and therapeutic measures, emphasizing the individualized evaluation of the patient for optimal treatment, including less invasive options, a multidisciplinary approach is necessary, especially in patients with previous morbidities such as diabetes, with emphasis on evidence-based dentistry to improve outcomes and reduce the burden of these infections.
