Шошго нэмэх | Тойм: | Women who undergo a mastectomy are at risk of suffering emotional disorders due to the deterioration of the body image that represents the valuation or meaning she makes of her own body, which makes her experience the change she suffers due to the meaning attributable to the mutilation and resection of the breast. To determine the impact of this surgical procedure, the research was carried out with the aim of designing an emotional support strategy for patients undergoing radical mastectomy in Ecuador, by means of a literature review. The methodology was based on a qualitative, non - experimental approach, through a transectional literature review that facilitated the analysis of 22 scientific articles selected according to the previously established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The main results revealed a significant emotional impact of alterations in female body image, which negatively affects the emotional sphere of women. Finally, it is concluded that it is of utmost importance to design a strategy of emotional support for patients undergoing radical mastectomy in Ecuador, through which nursing professionals provide comprehensive care to patients, addressing the physical and emotional needs towards the promotion of recovery and the overall well - being of women. |
