Desafíos y estrategias de enfermería para mejorar la calidad asistencial en emergencias obstétricas

Background: Nursing knowledge of obstetric emergency care is essential to ensure quality care and improve maternal-infant outcomes. Objective: to propose nursing strategies to improve the quality of care in obstetric emergencies. Methods: the study was observational and analytical, using a quantitative approach, the sample consisted of 12 nursing professionals from the Hospital Básico de Daule, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire, addressing aspects such as work experience, resources, training, protocol follow-up, interdisciplinary collaboration and emotional support. Results: Demographic analysis of the sample indicated that all participants were between 23 and 40 years old, with 83.3% being female. Educational background showed that 58.3% held a bachelor's degree, while 41.7% held a master's degree. However, 66.6% of the personnel had between 1 and 10 years of experience, highlighting a significant need for continuous training. Notably, critical challenges related to resource shortages and the need for updated protocols were identified. Conclusions: the importance of implementing training programs and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize care in obstetric emergencies was highlighted, emphasizing that addressing these challenges is crucial to improve the quality of car
