Тойм:Phototherapy is the initial approach to treat jaundice in newborns, although it has not been confirmed whether this exposure to light can cause alterations in the baby's skin that predispose it to other conditions. For this reason, the aim of the research was to develop nursing interventions in newborns diagnosed with jaundice and supported by phototherapy through a review of the literature, The methodology used was the qualitative approach, which required a systemic review of the literature using the methodology based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA), where 25 studies on the subject were analysed, highlighting among the main results the crucial role of nursing professionals in all aspects of neonatal jaundice management, from initial assessment and diagnosis to implementation and follow-up of phototherapy treatment, whereby nurses are fundamental not only in the technical application of treatment but also in parent education, emotional support to families, and coordination of interdisciplinary care, as this integral role ensures not only the efficacy of treatment but also a holistic and family-centred approach, which is essential for the well-being of the neonate and their family environment. Furthermore, despite the evidence for the efficacy of phototherapy, the findings also indicate the need for continued research to explore technological innovations, personalised treatment strategies and improved neonatal care practices.
