Description
Summary:Introduction: Surgical interventions, such as total knee arthroplasty, to treat osteoarticular diseases, a process in which nursing care plays a crucial role during the postoperative period. Objective : to analyses similarities and differences between studies to identify patterns and trends in nursing care approaches. Methodology: 15 investigations focusing on postoperative nursing care in patients undergoing knee arthroplasty were included. The problem addressed was the need to understand and improve postoperative care to optimise patient recovery. The selection of literature sources was done with inclusion criteria, keywords and using PROSMA methodology in this systematic review. Results: The findings revealed that all authors agreed on the importance of providing specialised and patient-centred care after hip arthroplasty to ensure adequate recovery and subsequent mobility. Pre- and postoperative nursing assessment ensures management of postoperative pain, mobility and infection control. Conclusion: The theoretical models NANDA, NOC and NIC taxonomy applied at each stage of the Nursing Care Process allow for an individualised care plan.
