الملخص:Depression in cancer patients is an issue of growing concern due to its impact on the quality of life and prognosis of the patient. Therefore, in this study, the effectiveness of nursing actions aimed at this group of patients was explored. The general objective was to interpret the effectiveness of nursing actions aimed at patients with depression diagnosed with cancer from a literature review, being the line of research Nursing Management in Health Services. Besides, the methodology used was a review with the Prisma method, covering original articles, reviews and case studies related to nursing care in patients with depression and cancer, published between 2018 and 2024 in Spanish and English, applying specific inclusion and exclusion criteria for the selection of studies from databases such as: Medline, Scielo, Scopus and Google Scholar. The search and selection process yielded a total of 20 articles with which the review was carried out. Through the interpretation, it is concluded that nursing interventions play a crucial role in the reduction of emotional pain in patients with cancer - associated depression, being essential a comprehensive and personalised care that addresses both physical and emotional aspects. Finally, continuing education programmes for nursing staff are encouraged, promoting a holistic approach to nursing care for patients with depression and cancer, integrating pain management strategies.
