Description
Résumé:Dentistry is a discipline that requires extreme precision, so dentists are subjected to a working day with repetitive tasks, combined with the need to maintain an uncomfortable and static position for prolonged periods, which increases the risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders and other occupational diseases. Objective: To identify and classify the most frequent occupational diseases among dental professionals, directly linked to the adoption of deficient ergonomic postures during clinical practice. Method: Qualitative, descriptive, exploratory, and analytical research, with a systematic review method based on the PRISMA guide, the sources of information being the PubMed, Wiley and Lilacs repositories. Results: A total of 308 documents were collected, which were subjected to a process of elimination and selection that left 11 articles as valid for the investigation. In addition, it was identified that occupational diseases are directly related to poor postural ergonomic practices, poor working conditions with tasks that include continuous examination, frequent elbow flexion, frequent repetitive movements, the need to reach distances greater than 50 centimetres and tasks that involve waist torsion. Conclusions: It is concluded that musculoskeletal disorders among dentistry professionals have a prevalence of discharge.
