Samenvatting: | In older adults, hypertension often occurs along with other health conditions, which further complicates its management, so early detection and effective management of hypertension in this population are crucial to improve their quality of life. The objective was to develop a healthy lifestyle intervention plan for hypertensive older adults based on a literature review. Materials and Methods, a literature review was conducted using the methodology based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA), in which the author's justification for the review and his findings were transparently documented, For this purpose, various research studies on nursing care in older adults with arterial hypertension will be studied by means of a literature review, where a total of 149 studies were reviewed, which after applying the respective inclusion and exclusion criteria, the number was reduced to 39, with which the analysis of the results was elaborated. The reviewed studies suggest that the combination of these elements can result in a significant reduction in blood pressure numbers, improvement in quality of life, and decrease in the risk of complications associated with hypertension, so this holistic approach not only addresses the symptoms of hypertension, but also addresses the underlying causes and risk factors, promoting a positive change in the lifestyle of older adults. |
