Identificación de estrategias preventivas de infecciones puerperales en adolescentes: una revisión bibliográfica

Puerperal infections in adolescents constitute a field of study of vital importance within public health and obstetrics, since this interest lies in the significant impact that postpartum infections cause on the health of adolescent mothers as well as their new-borns, which is why it was aimed to identify the main preventive strategies for adolescent puerperal infections by reviewing the bibliography. A methodology based on systematic review was used, supported by the PRISMA method (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta- Analyses) which was used in this research to ensure transparency and comprehensiveness in the documentation, so by following its guidelines, it ensures that each stage of the review process is clearly documented, facilitating the replication of the study and the verification of the results by other researchers, highlighting among the main results that to reduce the incidence of these complications, among the most outstanding measures are the prophylactic administration of antibiotics during labour, Especially in caesarean sections, perform regular screenings to detect vaginal and urinary infections before childbirth, being effective in minimizing the risk of serious infections such as endometritis, which is common in this population due to additional risk factors such as anaemia and moderate bleeding, in addition to the constant monitoring of vital signs, along with the proper administration of antibiotics and attention to the personal hygiene of patients, are essential to prevent the onset of infections.
