Riassunto:This thesis analyzes the effectiveness of transition policies toward retirement at the Universidad Nacional de Loja, aiming to evaluate their impact on employee well-being and propose evidence-based improvements, as suggested by Bertranou and Sánchez (2021) in the Latin American context. This study addresses a significant issue related to population aging and increasing labor demands, considering factors such as financial planning, emotional preparation, and the perception of equity among employees (Martínez & Herrera, 2023). Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combined quantitative analysis—including descriptive statistics and correlations of variables such as years of service, age, and salaries—with qualitative analysis based on semi-structured interviews that explored employees’ perceptions and challenges regarding retirement transition (Creswell, 2014). The findings revealed that 65% of workers perceive insufficient preparation for retirement and significant salary disparities affecting their sense of financial security and overall well-being, consistent with the findings of Gómez and Vargas (2023). The conclusions highlight the need to implement comprehensive counseling programs, flexible retirement schemes, and more effective communication strategies to ensure a dignified and balanced transition. This study aims to contribute to the design of more inclusive public policies, promoting employee well-being and strengthening the institutional commitment of the Universidad Nacional de Loja.
