Ամփոփում:A hospital environment is a propitious place for generating and spreading infections due to the omission of biosafety standards by health staff and users, which cause infections that can lead to serious alterations. This research aimed to analyze the compliance level of biosafety standards and its associated factors by the nursing staff working at “Manuel Ygnacio Monteros” Hospital. This study was observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional, and the research approach was qualitative and quantitative. The sample consisted of 49 nursing professionals who took a survey and filled out an observation form regarding their general personal data and biosafety standards compliance. The results show that there is a high level of compliance, with 73.5% for hand washing, 75.5% for physical barriers, 98% for biological barriers, 89.8% for chemical barriers, and 77.6% for hospital waste disposal. Likewise, it was determined that there is a statistically significant association between the employment status of the participants and the management of hospital waste, the more working years, the better the management. It was concluded that most of the nursing staff had a high level of biosafety standards compliance, with biological barriers having the highest level of compliance and hand washing the lowest. Based on these results, an educational proposal was presented to the institution's staff
