| সংক্ষিপ্ত: | The occupational hazards to which health staff are exposed, such as: contact with blood or fluids, cold, heat, noise, chemicals, physical exertion, stress and depression, present a higher risk of acquiring occupational diseases that affect performance and quality of life (WHO, 2017a). Accidents and occupational diseases cause about 2.03 million deaths each year; In addition, the risk of acquiring a occupational disease has become the main threat they face (ILO, 2015). The objective of this research was to identify occupational hazards in the nursing staff of the San Vicente de Paúl Hospital in the Pasaje canton, in the period of September 2018 - August 2019; The study was descriptive and transversal, with 35 people chosen for convenience; own elaboration survey was applied. The results show that 91% of the population are women, between 31-40 years old who reach 51% and 46% come from Pasaje. 37% have been punctured with needles and 46% have suffered accidents such as cuts and / or splashes. The staff rate noise, cold and heat as medium, reaching 77%, 60% and 46%. And ventilation, humidity and lighting rate them as not adequate in 31-37%. 60% of those surveyed say they have received verbal aggression from the patient and family; and 97% say they have suffered stress and 11% work depression.
