Περίληψη: | The subject of language and literature represents one of the tools that allows the structuring of thought, turning interaction into a reflection mechanism, based on the approach of macro skills such as reading, writing and speaking. The purpose of the research was to analyze how didactic strategies contribute to the teaching of the subject of language and literature in first-year high school students of the Atahualpa school in the city of Machala during the 2023-2024 period, because students of This institution presents difficulties in reading comprehension, reading and writing. Among the specific objectives is to diagnose the level of knowledge of first-year high school students in the subject of language and literature; identify the teaching strategies used by the teacher and finally, design an alternative proposal based on the teaching strategies. The approach was mixed, which allowed us to analyze, find out, and collect information, both qualitative and quantitative, through the inductive-deductive and analytical-synthetic method. The sample was 25 students and 1 teacher, to whom surveys, interviews and observation were applied. Among the results, it was found that the Language and Literature teacher at the Atahualpa school does not have sufficient knowledge about the different types of teaching strategies and the students have difficulties in reading comprehension, oral expression, and assertive communication. Based on this, it was possible to design a proposal that will improve the teaching-learning process of the subject. Keywords: Teaching – learning – language and literature – teaching strategies |
