Samenvatting:The investigation was the purpose to determined the prevalence of anemia in pregnant health center Loreto, due to the high percentage of cases presented, Canton which despite being an petroleum exporter, the level of poverty is high, in which food is scarce in iron, by the excessive product consumption their own area that are high in carbohydrates. The study population was 40 pregnant users of the health center Loreto. The design investigation was, not experimental, transversal, descriptive literature and field. Was applied as the technique survey and observation; with their respective Questionnaire and observation, information was tabulated and presented in tables and graphs. The investigation was observed a high level of anemia in pregnant with 57%, caused by low feeding quality scarce in iron. Was verified is highly prevalent anemia in the population especially in adolescent groups, so it was necessary to make a proposal to the prevention of anemia contained in a manual developed by the author, the same as was given to director of the health unit Loreto. Was a conducted Educational activities on prevention in pregnancy and was delivered copies of the manual and brochure to the participants in Spanish and kichwa, with the home visits in the canton Loreto. Was achieved foster in pregnant the importance of proper nutrition. Keywords: anemia, pregnancy and prevalence
