| Gaia: | The biotypes of Creole pigs are important to maintain variability and their conservation. The objective of the present research work was to evaluate the measurements and zoometric indices. In the investigation a population of 40 pigs was used, distributed in four biotypes, older that 12 months of age. The variables had a descriptive and observational analysis. The results of the variables analyzed were reported in Excel: body weight of female biotype two, the largest 100.00 kg; biotype four the smallest 83.25 kg; males the biotype one 204 kg; biotype four 101 kg., female thoracic perimeter biotype two greater 115.67 cm., biotype three 92.33 cm; biotype one males 174 cm; biotype four 120 cm, female cane diameter biotype three the largest 16.00 cm; biotype three the smallest 14.00 cm; biotype two males 19 cm; and the smallest of 18 cm in the other biotypes., females withers height biotype two the largest 69.33 cm; biotype three the smallest 51.67 cm; biotype three males 80 cm; biotype one 71 cm., the cephalic index in females biotype two the highest 80.90 %, biotype one the lowest 77.67 %; in males the biotype two 81.25 %, biotype four 74.19 %, females the body index biotype four the highest 82.635 %; biotype 3 the lowest 66.06 %; males biotype two 97.69 %, biotype one 63.22 % cane load index biotype three the highest 22.95 %, biotype two the lowest 16.00 %; biotype two males 15.70 % and biotype one 8.82 %. It is concluded that morphologically Creole pigs present differences between their biotypes. Keywords: biotype. creole, measurements, zoometric index. |
