Conocimientos, aptitudes y práctica sobre lactancia materna con niños de 0 a 1 año de edad que acuden al Centro de Salud N°2 Loja

Breastfeeding is considered a key component in infant feeding, providing variety of nutrients for child survival. With the completion of this research called "knowledge, skills and practices in breastfeeding mothers with children 0-1 year old who come to the Health Center No. 2 Loja", aimed to identify the knowledge and skills as well Also, the correct application of the techniques of breastfeeding. To this end, three specific objectives were proposed: identify the knowledge that has mothers about breastfeeding; define the skills of mothers against breastfeeding; identify the practices and techniques that have breastfeeding mothers to breastfeed their children. The research was descriptive, quantitative nature, the universe was composed 90 mothers of 0-1 year old who came to the health center No. 2 Loja, who were applied a survey which contained a questionnaire previously structured and an observation guide this was applied to 50 mothers allowed to determine the information required in this investigation. The results obtained are presented in simple tables and often expressed in percentage, resulting in data analysis and formulation of conclusions and recommendations. Result indicate that over 80% of breastfeeding mothers know regarding the beginning, importance, components, in terms of benefits for baby and the mother, related to fitness, most of the mothers showed a moderately adequate fitness and confirmed that the level of knowledge allows mothers develop good skills in the practice of breastfeeding, in addition it can be concluded that there is a very good practice of exclusive breastfeeding also that most mothers know and practice the correct technique to breastfeed their children.
