Summary:The urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common complications in pregnancy; caused by microorganisms and which mostly have been associated with abortion, premature birth, stillbirth, low birth weight and can be transmitted vertically causing neonatal morbidity and mortality. As this research was raised whose objective was to determine the knowledge of infections of genito-urinary tract in pregnant women attending the health sub center Daniel Alvarez of June 2014 - June 2015. The study is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The study group consisted of 120 pregnant women, who I were given a survey. The results showed that 83.34% define urinary tract infections; 64.17% identify signs and symptoms; 53.33% describes the diagnostic tools. As for preventive measures most respondents highlighted the emptying of the bladder, physical rest and abstinence, daily change of underwear, vitamin C intake and seek medical advice to avoid complications to the baby.
