Резюме:The study of the methodology used by the teacher in the educational process stems from the need to respond to the problem, which focuses on the analysis that has the influence of the methodology used by the teacher of mathematics in the development of skills with criteria performance of the Algebra and Functions block, and the search for solutions to the situations found within the process. In the present investigation, the general objective is: to determine the influence of the methodology used by the mathematics teacher in the development of skills with performance criteria, of the Algebra and Functions block in the tenth year students of Basic General Education of the morning session of the Baccalaureate College "February 27" of the city of Loja academic period 2018-2019. The research methodology is descriptive and explanatory, for the development of the same, appropriate methods and techniques were used to strengthen the research and meet the proposed objectives. From the analysis of the results obtained through the interview and the observation sheet, it was determined that the methodology used by the teacher is of a traditional nature, based on this a change was made in the methodology in order to improve the achievement of skills, subsequently He applied the post - test where the results obtained showed a high achievement of skills. Therefore, it is concluded that the achievement of skills with performance criteria achieved by the students is insignificant with the methodology used by the teacher and improved markedly as the methodological structure was innovated. Given these results, training on methodologies that encourage active student participation to achieve meaningful learning is recommended; this methodology should be included in the teacher's daily planning.
