| Резюме: | It is difficult to diagnose Confusional Syndrome as a clinical manifestation of infectious diseases such as pneumonia, because in most cases is accompanied by other specific disease pathology. However in some cases the patients reach the emergency medical service with symptoms characterized by disturbances of consciousness and attention, as well as delusions, without knowing the cause or reason confused with psychiatric disorders leaving behind organic and infectious diseases Therefore this research topic was raised as Confusional Syndrome as first clinical manifestation in community-acquired pneumonia in the Armed Forces Hospital No. 1 for this study, hospital records was used containing the parameters for the diagnosis of this disease under study (ANNEX 1) and CURB-65 (ANNEX 3), the results showed the presence of 46% of patients diagnosed with CAP who presented Confusional Syndrome, of which 44% do not accompanying symptoms, also it was presented with the highest prevalence in the male gender aged between 85-90 years old. It is also important to analyze the underlying diseases in patients with this disease, because it may rule out some causes for alteration of other pathology. This study showed that 35% have type 2 diabetes mellitus, 26% arterial hypertension; pathologies such lesser percentage of urinary tract infection is present, and chronic renal failure. This study will be the starting point for future research, research and monitoring projects that benefit both patients from different hospitals for proper diagnosis and treatment.
