| Streszczenie: | Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a public health problem associated with multiple risk factors. The present study had as objectives: to determine the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus and the associated factors in the health personnel of the Manuel Ygnacio Montero Hospital. With a quantitative, cross-sectional approach, with a sample of 105 health workers during the period August to October 2021, the FINDRISC Test was used. Most of the population made up of medical personnel under 65 years of age presented a low risk of developing DM2 in 10 years (56.2%); what's more; According to the body mass index, 34.3% present normal weight and 19% obesity, and resident physicians are the group most frequently in occupational positions, with regard to physical activity 50.5% if they perform physical activity, while 26.7% of the staff eat hospital food. In conclusion: the health personnel of the Manuel Ygnacio Montero Hospital have a low risk of suffering from Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in 10 years. It was identified that the body mass index and physical activity are conditioning factors in the risk for the development of this pathology at 10 years, also adding the occupational position (treating doctors) who have a high risk for its development. It was determined that there is no relationship between the type of food consumed by health personnel in their working day with the risk of developing DM2.
