| Gaia: | The following research work focuses on Knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases in adolescents in the fifth year of the Lauro Guerrero de Loja Educational Unit, its main objective was to assess knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases in adolescents; it was based on a study with a mixed, descriptive, observational, cross-sectional cohort approach; The technique used was the information collection sheet and the application of a knowledge questionnaire on sexually transmitted diseases to the universe of 94 students, of whom 87 answered the questions. In the results of the pretest it was obtained that 100% of those investigated only partially know what sexually transmitted diseases are, 29.9% do not know the signs and symptoms of STDs, 21.8% do not know the complications of STDs, 65.5% do not know what syphilis is, 58.6% do not know the characteristics of syphilis, 62.1% do not know what genital herpes is, 59.8% do not know the characteristics of genital herpes, 60.9% do not know what the Human Papilloma Virus is, and 62.1% do not know how the Human Papilloma Virus is transmitted. That is why a proposal was made for the prevention and management of this valuable information through a psychoeducational workshop, although it is true at the time of the study the population did not know about STDs, which is why they are at risk, being important to psychoeducate. Adolescents through preventive measures. In conclusion, provide information about sexually transmitted diseases, it had a positive benefit and impact since through the experiential experiences and the dynamic workshop some reflections were exposed and after them it was obtained that more than 90% of the students acquired knowledge about of STDs and based on this, work was done to promote their self-care; Therefore, it is recommended that the Lauro Guerrero Educational Unit continue to allow information workshops on sexually transmitted diseases to be carried out so that the risks in adolescents are reduced |
