| Samenvatting: | Labor precariousness is a problem that, over the years, has been increasing, affecting a large part of the population in the labor field. One of the most affected populations is the migrant population, where the difficult decision to emigrate to another country leads many people to accept informal jobs with low wages, long working hours without pay, and other forms of abuse. The precariousness of labor among migrants is related to social exclusion. Discrimination and xenophobia of native people hinders access to essential services such as health, education, housing and integration with the community. This research aims to analyze the effects of job insecurity and social exclusion in migrant adults, considering aspects such as job insecurity, lack of labor rights, discrimination and the sense of relevance in a country with a different culture. The methodology used is based on a mixed methods approach that combines tools such as observation, surveys, interviews to obtain a deeper understanding according to the data collected. The results indicate that the majority of adult migrants residing in the city of Quito are of Venezuelan nationality, representing 55% of the surveyed population, followed by the Colombian population with 45%. Of this population, 90% have informal employment, lack labor benefits, suffer abuse or work burden, or have a minimum wage to meet their needs. This negatively affects their social and emotional well-being, excluding them from the possibility of having a better quality of life |
