Izvleček: | The presence of a disease as chronic renal failure has an impact on the lives of sufferers, it is disease in which there is a high incidence of protein- caloric malnutrition. This study arose with the object of determine if the nutritional status affect the quality of life the patients with chronic renal failure. It is a quantitative study, qualitative, retroprospective, transversal and descriptive. It was held at the Hemodialysis Unit of the Hospital Isidro Ayora with a sample of 56 patients. It was used a test based on the SF-36 health questionnaire, were taken anthropometric measurements and laboratory values were collected. The results were as the body mass index the (47%) have adequate weight, mostly men (35%); overweight (31%) mostly women. Accord the body fat percentage lean (51%), with tendency to overweight predominantly women (6%). The nutritional status accord the Albumin and the cholesterol was adequate (62%), mild malnutrition 34%, moderate malnutrition (4%). The muscle mass accord a level of Creatinine is decrease (86%), normal (14%). Finally (41%) of patients have a Quality of life regular, very good (29%), bad (14%). The patients with malnutrition and overweight have quality of life regular and bad in change the persons with adequate nutritional status have a good quality of life, evident that the nutritional status of patients with chronic renal failure have negative influence in its quality of life.
