For this reason, the objective of this study was to promote the implementation of an educational strategy on the use of contraceptives and reproductive risk in high school students of the Marieta de Veintimilla Educational Unit from October 2022 to March 2023. A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was developed; 206 students participated in which have an age range of 14 to 16 years with 64.56%, 55.34% belonging to the male sex, coming from neighborhoods of influence of the educational unit, single, 93.69% are mestizos, 95.15% are Catholics, 62.62% live with their parents, 47.57% receive a family income level equivalent to a unified basic remuneration. Of the students, 44.66% have a poor level of knowledge about contraceptive methods; 72.82% showed a favorable attitude towards the use of contraceptive methods; only 34.47% presented a good level of practices and use of contraceptive methods. An educational strategy was designed to increase knowledge about the use of contraceptives and reproductive risk by creating a training workshop with the use of educational resources such as brochures and videos. This study corroborates that the level of knowledge does not determine the attitude or the use of contraceptive methods in adolescents |
