| Crynodeb: | Access to credit is a limiting factor for both growth and development in Ecuador, so that 72% of citizens have savings accounts, 4% current accounts, 4% term deposits and 28% of the adult population over 18 years of age has some type of credit [Banco Central del Ecuador (BCE), 2020]. What drives its inhabitants to be creative in an organized way, forming savings and credit banks to somehow make up for this deficiency. Therefore, this research evaluates the impact of the Achik Pakari savings and credit bank in the Langa community in the period 2000-2020. For the present study, the information was obtained from the accounting records of the savings bank, as well as from the application of interviews to all the partners. According to the results of the interviews, it was possible to determine that, in the savings bank, 100% of the members accessed credit, the same ones that differ from the number of members of the community, the profitability obtained in the reference period fluctuated between 10 % and 17% per year, therefore, in this case it is very important to define a policy that helps to inject credit resources through a second-tier state financial entity, to achieve soft conditions and thus enhance access to credit to the members, channeling a greater amount of credit, thus allowing greater access to credit for members, in order to boost the local economy. |
