| Izvleček: | The present research, entitled "Use of Evaluation Techniques and Instruments and their Impact on Academic Performance in Social Studies," aims to determine the impact of using evaluation techniques and instruments to improve academic performance in the subject of Social Studies for sixth-grade students at Filomena Mora Elementary School. The study focused on addressing the identified issues through the use of evaluation techniques and instruments and employed a quantitative-qualitative research approach. The research design was non-experimental as variables were not manipulated, and the type of research used was exploratory and descriptive. The methods employed include scientific, inductive, analytical, interpretative, and statistical approaches. Additionally, techniques such as observation, surveys, and interviews were used, along with instruments in the form of questionnaires designed for both teachers and students. These methods allowed for the collection of significant information to identify and address the issues at hand. The population and sample were determined through non-probabilistic sampling, selecting 48 students and two teachers from the institution. The results highlighted that the use of appropriate evaluation techniques and instruments has a significant impact on academic performance, as students comprehend the topics taught more clearly and precisely. In conclusion, evaluation techniques and instruments should be used effectively, as they provide valuable feedback to students, help identify achieved and unachieved objectives, and, in turn, motivate students to continue learning. |
