Engadir etiqueta | Summary: | This research work entitled: "Family abandonment and its impact on the active aging of older adults in the Macará home care unit of the project "Envejeciendo Juntos” - MIES year 2023", was developed based on the study applied to users belonging to the Macará home care unit of the project "Envejeciendo Juntos", executed by the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion, in order to determine the consequences of abandonment and neglect by the family in older adults. The methodology used was the application of the scientific method with the support of the analytical method, through which it was possible to know relevant aspects of the users and the descriptive method to analyze the categories and contrast them with the reality of the problems in which the users are immersed. Techniques such as direct observation, surveys and semi-structured interviews applied to users, family members and Social Promoters of the project, have determined the existence of factors that prevent the family from maintaining an adequate family co- responsibility in relation to the care of the elderly. The main findings obtained in the research show that within the homes of older adults there is abandonment, affecting interpersonal relationships and weakening family co-responsibility, commitment, and predisposition to act effectively in the daily life of the older adult. Therefore, this research will serve as a contribution to society through the collection of specific information that will allow contrasting with the reality of the object of study and the problem, in addition, for public policies can be consolidated as a reference in relation to the care and comprehensive care of older adults within the family, community and society in general. |
