Factores determinantes de gastroenteritis en menores de cinco años en el Hospital General Isidro Ayora de Loja.

Gastroenteritis is a very common in the pediatric service of the Regional Hospital Isidro Ayora Loja by such problematic situation the present research is to analyze the determinants of gastroenteritis in children under five hospitalized in the Pediatric Regional Hospital Isidro Ayora Loja, during the period January-June 2013 the study was observational analytical case-control, were 100 cases and controls were a one to one. Data were collected using a survey of mothers and medical record review. The information collected is analyzed in the SPSS software in two by two tables. The results are often 25% of gastroenteritis factors: inadequate excreta (OR: 16.11, 95% CI 2.07 to 125.09), inadequate water consumption (OR: 10.03, 95 % CI: 2.25 to 44.71), dysfunctional family (OR: 3.62, 95% CI: 1.83 to 7.15) and Contact with animals (OR: 3.05, 95% CI: 1.71 to 5.45).
