Summary:Burnout Syndrome is produced by prolonged stress conditions in a given organizational environment, causing loss of interest, commitment and self incapacity, altering the quality of sleep in students. The purpose of this research was to identify the presence of Burnout Syndrome, to analyze sleep quality according to sex and age groups and to evaluate the correlation between both variables in the members of the Association of Medical Students for Projects and Exchanges of Ecuador; it had a quantitative approach of transversal cohort, in a sample of 323 members to whom the Maslach Burnout Inventory - General Survey for Students and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index were applied. Obtaining that 13% (n=42) presented Burnout Syndrome; 64.28% (n=27) women and 35.75% (n=15) men, predominantly between 20 and 24 years of age. Regarding sleep quality, the population studied had poor sleep quality represented by 99.07% (n=320), 62.18% in women and 37.82% in men, with no difference between age groups. When relating the two variables, no statistically significant relationship was found with a value of p = 0.45, despite the fact that most of the study population are poor sleepers and are in professional training cycles
